Q. Does Complimentary In-Home Consultation really mean there is no charge? Do I have to purchase something?
A. Our In-Home Consultations are absolutely complimentary and there is no obligation to purchase. Our Certified Window Covering Specialists provide you with assistance from start to finish, including design advice, measuring, product selection, order management and installation. You do not pay for the design expertise, only for the products you choose and the installation.
Q. How does the Window Covering Specialist work with me to find the right window treatment?
A. Your Designer is a Certified Hunter Douglas Dealer and will discuss with you your project to know your goals and needs. As an expert in window fashions, your designer is adept at finding the best window covering product, fabric, and colors based on your windows, your personal design style and your budget. All you have to do is sit back and relax and allow us to take care of everything from measuring to installation.
Q. I have odd shaped windows, such as skylights and arched windows. Can you still help me?
A. Yes, our window covering solutions are customized to meet your needs. We offer numerous solutions for specialty-shaped windows such as skylights, angled top or bottom, arches, circles, pentagons, hexagons, octagons, trapezoids and French Doors. Including motorized options for easy opening/closing and lifting for those hard to reach windows. Your Designer will explain the latest technologies and options available to you for all of your challenging windows.
Q. I have windows I’d like to cover but they’re too high to reach. Is it true you have automated systems to open/ close and raise/lower?
A. Yes, there are numerous automated control systems to allow remote operation of the window coverings. Our Designer will work with you to determine the best automated system based on your needs and lifestyle.
Q. How can a window treatment be “energy efficient”?
A. Several Hunter Douglas products are designed specifically for energy efficiency. When closed, they provide up to 99% UV protection, insulate your rooms, and help keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Some products can reduce energy loss by up to 50%, the highest rating available for window fashions. A product’s energy efficiency is based partly on the structure of the product and partly on the fabrics/materials used. Your Designer will show you how these products can provide you with the energy efficiency you require.
Q. Where can I find out about the window covering warranty?
A. All of our Hunter Douglas window coverings come with warranties from the manufacturer. During your consultation your designer will discuss the warranty coverage based on the product you have chosen. After the installation of your products you will be given a folder with your important purchase papers along with the warranty information.
Q. How long will it take to receive my blinds?
A. We estimate your blinds will be ready for installation 2-3 weeks from the date of ordering. However we ask that you keep in mind that this is an estimate and may vary depending upon availability of materials. Your Designer will keep you up to date of the status of your order.
Q. How long does a typical install take?
A. Our Certified Master Installer is very knowledgeable and efficient, we estimate the install of the average home will take 2 ½ hours to complete.
Q. What should I do prior to the installation appointment to prepare my home?
A. We ask that you remove all existing window coverings, unless you have chosen to pay the removal surcharge. We also ask that you move any furniture or obstructions a minimum of 3 feet from the windows to allow sufficient workspace. The safety of your children and pets is very important to us, so we ask that you keep them a safe distance from the workspace during the installation.
Q. What do I do if I require warranty work for my window coverings?
A. Majority of warranty issues can be repaired immediately on site by our Master Installer, we ask that you contact our Master Installer directly by phone (403-505-1813) or through our Service Request Form online to arrange a service call.
Q. I didn’t purchase my blinds from Cover Your Windows, or I’m not the original purchaser of the blinds, can you still assist me with repairs?
A. Yes, if you have Hunter Douglas window coverings in your home we can still provide you with assistance. We ask that you contact our Master Installer by phone (403-505-1813) or through our Online Service Request Form for further information.
